What is an AI agent?
An AI system that works toward a goal by planning steps and using tools, such as browsing, editing files or sending messages, with less step-by-step direction from a person.
How it works
The agent takes a goal, picks a next action, uses a tool, checks the result and repeats until the task is done or it needs input. People set which tools it can use and which actions need approval.
Example
Given a folder of receipts, an agent pulls out each amount, fills in the expense sheet and flags the two receipts it can’t read.
